My son, Ben McKinney, has started doing some really interesting artwork with acrylic pours and spinning. Volatus is another step in him finding his artistic voice. In this one, he added waves, and I knew it would be perfect for converting into a cross stitch pattern. I love the play and mixing of colors that happens with this technique and think they will make stunning designs!
This is a slice of the whole painting. A smaller, more manageable project for those who want to stitch this, but feel overwhelmed by the full-sized design.
Volatus is Latin for flying or flight.
