When I saw this pineapple motif, I knew at once how I wanted to use it in a design. The rest of the pattern was a matter of picking out themes that would fit and work well. The border designs are cyclamens, and the pansies add a touch of spring and whimsy to what started out as tropical pattern with an art nouveau twist. When I picked the little birds to fill in the bottom spaces, I knew I wanted to them to Red-Crested Cardinals, a bird originally imported to the Hawaiian Islands but now prolific everywhere here.
This cheerful design is charted in DMC and only uses 14 shades. I hope this design brings a little Spring into your home, and a little happy into your stitching life!
My patterns are now fully compatible with the Pattern Keeper app, making it easier than ever to stitch any of my designs!
